The AJ Bell Great Bristol Run is one of the UK’s premier running events, attracting tens of thousands of participants and spectators annually.
Since 2022, The Great Run Company has continued to partner with Superhuman Group for support with operational muscle — strengthening delivery teams and ensuring a safe, seamless, and positive experience for everyone involved for this major city, closed road event.
The Solution
Event & Course Management Services
Each year, our senior event directors, Craig Stevens and Luca Samara, take on the role of Course Managers, working alongside the client event team in the weeks leading up to race day. Their expert insight and collaborative approach help:

On race day, we deploy 10 of our most experienced Event Managers, each assigned to a key course sector. Their responsibilities include:
- Managing marshalling teams and volunteer coordination
- Overseeing crowd control and runner safety
- Executing road closures and diversion protocols
- Providing rapid, on-the-ground operational support
These professionals act as the eyes and ears of Event Control —ensuring swift communication, decisive action, and a smooth experience for runners and the public.
